About Inis Isle
I’m Katie, the artist and creator behind Inis Isle, where I transform my love of the ocean and nature into handcrafted art and home décor. For me, the ocean has always been more than a place. It is memory, family, heritage, and a feeling that stays with you long after you've left the shore. The inspiration for Inis Isle began with my family. My grandparents came to the United States from Ireland and eventually returned to County Kerry, where I spent time visiting them as a child. My mother, whose family home overlooked the Atlantic, introduced me to the beauty and power of the sea. Her seashell artwork, inspired by that coastline, reflects a lifelong connection to the ocean that she passed down to me. The name Inis Isle represents both sides of my heritage. Inis, meaning “island” in Irish, honors my Irish ancestry, while Isle represents Long Island, New York, where I grew up. The name serves as a connection between these two places and the influences they have had on my life and creative work. From resin wave charcuterie boards and ocean-inspired wine glasses to pressed flower trays, wall art, and coastal décor, my collection is inspired by the places that call us back. My hope is that each piece evokes a memory, sparks an emotion, or reminds someone of a beach, an ocean, or a special place that holds meaning in their own story. Inis Isle is my way of carrying that connection forward, one piece at a time.
