Bio
Born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1974, Nina draws deep inspiration from her Scandinavian roots—where the sea, forests, and lakes of Sweden shaped her deep love for the natural world. Having grown up sailing along the west coast’s striking archipelago, she developed a lifelong connection to the movement and energy of water, which continues to inform her artistic vision. Nina works primarily with acrylic on large canvases, combining impressionistic elements with abstract expression. Her signature style is layered, emotive, and deeply personal—each piece reflecting her inner world and intuitive connection to the environment around her. She studied Art and the Creative Process and Media and Communications at Halmstad University in Sweden, where her creative journey began to take shape through a mix of fine art, photography, radio, and film. She held her first solo exhibition in the artist-rich region of Österlen, Sweden. After moving to the United States in the late 1990s, Nina continued to create and exhibit her work while raising a family and living in multiple states and abroad. Now based in Greenville, South Carolina, with her husband and three sons, she is dedicating this new chapter to her art with renewed passion and purpose. Nina invites viewers to not only see, but feel her paintings—and to find their own stories within them.
